The apartment is located in the peaceful “Birch Street,” just a 7-minute walk from the promenade, in the Čuka neighborhood, and in the immediate vicinity of the forest parks “Čuka 2” and “Borići Park.”
The “Borići Park” forest is particularly beneficial for visitors with respiratory problems and lung diseases.

Cultural and historical landmarks
- Sokograd Fortress is the most famous cultural and historical monument, built during the late 13th and early 14th centuries in the Middle Ages, on the foundations of a Roman fortress. The last major destruction of Sokograd occurred in the early 15th century during the battles for the Turkish throne between Sultan Musa and the rebel Hamza Bey. Although Sokograd is challenging to access today, tourists do not miss the opportunity to visit this fortress because, from its walls and towers, they can enjoy a panoramic view of the splendid surrounding landscapes. A special experience awaits them as they walk along the path covered with oak and hornbeam forests beside the Moravica River. It is precisely this path that leads you from Lepterija to Sokograd. The length of the path is 1450 meters, and there are several picnic spots along the way.

The Turkish bath, Amam, is located in the heart of Sokobanja, in the spa park. It was built by the Turks on the foundations of Roman baths in the 15th century. It was first renovated in 1834 by the order of Prince Miloš Obrenović, and the last time in 2005. It is the only functioning Turkish bath in Serbia and is famous for being featured in the renowned film “Zona Zamfirova” directed by Zdravko Šotra. Additionally, the Hamam houses the “Kneževa kada” (Prince’s bathtub), which is still in use today.
An interesting oral tradition tells a story that Prince Miloš Obrenović was known for his womanizing tendencies, and he requested a secret opening to be built in the wall of his bathhouse in the Hamam. This allowed him to discreetly observe undressed women and choose some for himself. The oral tradition also suggests that the Princess also visited Sokobanja, but never at the same time as the Prince.
If you want to experience the spirit of life from that period, visiting this place is a must. You will feel like royalty. In the Turkish bath, you can enjoy the thermal mineral water at a temperature of 43 degrees Celsius.

The Summer Stage "Vrelo"
• Main Stage: It has a seating capacity of 1500 and standing capacity of 3000, making it suitable for organizing all major events such as concerts, festivals, and performances.
• Small Stage: This stage is designed for smaller-scale events as part of the cultural and entertainment program of the Banjsko Zabavno Leto (Summer Entertainment in Sokobanja)
Tourist events/festivals
- Banjsko zabavno leto (Summer Entertainment in Sokobanja) – During the summer tourist season, from June 21st to September 1st each year, numerous cultural and entertainment events are organized as part of the Summer Entertainment in Sokobanja. These include concerts, theater performances, and monodramas performed by amateur and professional theaters from all over Serbia, dance group performances, magician shows, stand-up comedy performances, local cultural and artistic societies, open-air cinema, expert lectures, literary evenings, various presentations, and exhibitions.
- Prva harmonika Srbije – Sokobanja is well-known for the international music festival “Prva harmonika Srbije,” which has been held since 1962. Many winners of this competition have become eminent experts, leaders of large orchestras, and accordion masters. The period of the festival includes the semifinals in July and the finals in mid-August.
- Green Heart fest– A rock and house music festival first held in July 2016. Renowned bands such as Zabranjeno pušenje, Orthodox Celts, Galija, MVP, Van Gogh, Novembar, Sevdah Baby, and many others have performed at the festival. It particularly attracts young people. The festival takes place in mid-July and lasts for three days. The organizer is the Tourist Organization of Sokobanja.
- Zlatne ruke – A traditional event held since 1983, where participants compete in preparing old, almost forgotten dishes, showcasing traditional crafts, and creating folk handicrafts. Visitors cherish this event as they can get advice from kind-hearted housewives on preparing traditional dishes and have a chance to taste some specialties. It is held annually on July 14th.
- Sveti Jovan Biljober – A manifestation held since 1994, characterized by a large number of people gathering to collect medicinal herbs on the slopes of Ozren, Rtanj, and Devica, accompanied by expert guides. The event includes expert lectures, quizzes, a Herbal Parade, and the selection of the Biljarica Princess. It takes place every year from July 2nd to 7th.
- Maraton želja –One of the youngest tourist events, unique in the world. The participants gather in large numbers to walk through the most picturesque landscapes of Sokobanja and visit several destinations believed to fulfill their wishes. At each location, participants collect coupons, which entitle them to participate in a prize draw. The event also features a rich cultural and entertainment program. It is held on the first weekend of September.

Excursion destinations
• Sesalac Cave – On the way to Knjaževac, 20 kilometers from Sokobanja, and above the village of Sesalac, you can find Sesalac Cave. The cave is illuminated for a length of 200 meters and consists of 7 chambers, with a legend that it served as a refuge for hajduks (outlaws) for centuries. One of the side passages leads to an underground lake. In front of the cave, there are several tables and benches for picnicking and barbecuing, and behind the cave, there is a lake.
• Ozren Lake – Located above the waterfall, at the entrance to the Ozren Hospital complex, you can find a small lake and another waterfall. This beautiful spot in Serbia offers a peaceful retreat with a children’s park and a basketball playground. It is a popular destination for excursions and a must-visit for trout lovers, as you can see trout swimming in the lake and later enjoy it on your plate, prepared in the nearby fish restaurant. While waiting for the delicious and fresh trout, guests can enjoy the beautiful view of the waterfall and the lake right in front of them. This attraction is especially suitable for family outings, as children can play in the park near the restaurant.
• Ripaljka Waterfall – Considered the most beautiful natural monument in Sokobanja and one of the most stunning waterfalls in Serbia, the Ripaljka waterfall is a must-see for nature lovers. The water falls from a height of 11 meters, and the water droplets occasionally sprinkle visitors, creating a magical and relaxing effect. Wooden tables and chairs are available near the waterfall for visitors to enjoy the stunning view. According to legend, this place grants wishes, so don’t forget to make a wish if you visit the waterfall. A series of smaller waterfalls precede the magnificent Ripaljka, and near these waterfalls, there are benches and tables for rest and picnics. The Ripaljka waterfall is located at the entrance to the Ozren Hospital complex and is 5 kilometers away from Sokobanja. Directional signs are placed to guide visitors to the site. You can reach Ripaljka by forest trails or by car on an asphalt road, leading to a large parking area in front of the waterfall.
• Bovan Lake – If you want to be in direct contact with nature and enjoy being near water, Bovan Lake is highly recommended. Although originally intended for water supply and irrigation, Bovan Lake has become one of the favorite tourist attractions. The captivating nature of this area has inspired many people to build weekend cottages on the lake’s shores, contributing to the development of tourism by offering accommodation options. Many visitors also opt for camping. The lake features well-maintained beaches for swimmers and is particularly popular among fishing enthusiasts. Some of the fish species found in the lake include catfish, pike-perch, carp, chub, perch, and various whitefish. The Sokobanja Fishing Society caters to anglers, offering both yearly and daily fishing permits for those who want to enjoy this sport. Bovan Lake is calm and open only to rowers, sailors, and swimmers, as motorboats are not allowed. In September, a sailing regatta is held on the lake.
